meet.….the Instructors
Kourtney Sullivan
Kourtney began teaching pilates after her experience with yoga the years prior. Loving the mind-body style of exercise brought about from yoga, but experiencing mild back pain, she began to look for a system that incorporated the “get into your body” style of fitness with a focus on physical anatomy and structure. After trying pilates and and experiencing immediate relief of her back pain she decided to become certified in the pilates system. Trained through BASI (Body Arts and Science International) Pilates based out of California, Kourtney found her passion in life. Through her own experience, she can firsthand agree with Joseph Pilates saying that “Contrology (Pilates) develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.” After her initial certification with over 500 hours of study, and numerous years of experience, she has now dedicated her entire career to her own continual study of the pilates system. Kourtney safely and effectively trains clients from all walks of life as she believes that “This is not just for dancers or those wanting a lean body, this system of fitness is safe and effective for everyone. Through pilates we learn how to rehabilitate our own bodies, as well as prevent injury, and create a whole body system of effective movements in our daily lives!”
